What was the highlight of Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort
Good hotel but many bothering less good nuances
It is a nice hotel right on the ocean beach, with spacious rooms, big pools and large territory. The meal was good, with a fair variety of meals. The spa is excellent, sport massage was indeed intensive. Good that they have a kids room and kids pool.
Though a hotel is pretty good, I was expecting more when paying over $500 a day (we had a double room). We encountered lots of smaller less good details that we might have accepted for a $100 room, but when it is that expensive, no. The plumbing in the room was a mess. Rain shower only gave me drips, not anything like shower. Handheld shower was impossible to adjust to spray water on me, it kept turning towards the glass. The waterproofing of the shower was poor and we always had a wet floor. Now couple it with the lack of bath mat, that stuff kept forgetting to bring... The toilet paper provided was two half-used rolls and we were not brought with the spare rolls until completely run out of it. Even much less expensive hotels typically replace rolls for a new guest, and I would definitely expect that small guesture for an expensive one. Twice, we did not receive the drinkable water supply and had to call the reception for that. The hair dryer was not provided at all. There is a kids room (which we appreciate the hotel has!) but it is kind of old, with most of toys either broken or missing parts. The kids playground (thanks that it exists) contains little equipment, just 3 items. There is no possibility to buy full board including lunches. The room service does not allow to order coctails to the room, though it is possible to buy them in the bar. Even the grapes that is typically offered seedless, here got seeds. Don't get me wrong, I am not a luxury seeker, and would not have complained at such a small detail, if it was somewhere else, at lower price or the only flaw. The spa offers great massages, but sauna was not working one day, hammam and jacuzzi the other day. Finally, the hotel is isolated from the city and the taxis, in the lack of Uber) are very expensive. The hotel only offers one shuttle a day. Overall, we enjoyed the stay but at this price it makes little sense.

Wonderful
The rooms had a great view and were very comfortable.
The service at the restaurants could have been better. My family received their drinks, but they forgot mine. Then after reminding them it took a few more minutes to get my drink. A few minutes later food arrived and it was the same situation. They didn’t bring my dinner. They also never said anything about it. My husband had to go get someone to ask where my food was. My family had almost finished their meal before my dinner was brought out. And for the price of that dinner it was very subpar.
